In 2014, over IDR 530 billion (USD 43 million) is provided by Indonesia’s National Endowment for education, which total the endowment fund by IDR 15.6 trillion (USD 12.8 billion). This funding will be used for scholarships, research for national development, and to repair education facilities damaged by natural disasters. For both in-country and abroad scholarships, the national investment for endowment fund amounts to IDR 500 billion (USD 41 million) meanwhile endowment for research reaches to IDR 20 billion (USD 1.64 million). Primary areas for research for product commercialisation and technology include: Food Security, Energy and Health. For policy implementation on the other hand, primary research areas include: Governance, Socialization of Religion, Ecogrowth and Culture. Every research project in these specific areas will be given additional funding of IDR 2 billion (IDR 164,000).
